HOD‘S WELCOME SPEECH

I have great pleasure welcoming you to the Department of Arts Education of this University.

The Department houses five programmes, namely:

i. B.Ed Adult Education with teaching Subjects;

ii. B.A Education/Yoruba.

iii. B.A Education/History

iv. B.A Education/Religion Studies;

v. B.A Education/English

Admission to any of these programmes is through Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) being conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Abuja, Nigeria.

The Department does not discriminate against any candidate on the grounds of colour religion, geographical location, or race. Every person is free to apply for admission into the Department, once the person has five GCE Ordinary Level (O/L) papers or Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or its equivalent.

The Department also admits direct level students into 200 levels of its programmes. However, such a candidate must have Advanced level papers, or National Certificate in Education or diploma from recognized universities.

All the programmes in the Department take 3 or 4 years to complete Students who enter the University through SSCE O/L will spend four years, while direct entry student will spent three years. Thank you for visiting our Department. You are most welcome
